Who it’s for

Homes

Bedrooms, living spaces, home offices and loft conversions that get too hot in summer.

New builds and period properties

Careful layouts that keep units and pipework discreet, whatever the age of the building.

Businesses and schools

Offices, shops, restaurants and classrooms. For larger buildings, see commercial air conditioning.

Which type of system do I need?

The right choice depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how the building is laid out and how visible you’re happy for the units to be. We’ll recommend an option at the survey.

Split systems

One indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. The simplest choice for cooling a single room, such as a bedroom, living room or home office.

Multi-split systems

Several indoor units run from one outdoor unit, so you can cool a few rooms without lining the outside wall with condensers.

Ducted systems

The indoor unit is hidden in a ceiling void or loft, and cool air reaches each room through discreet grilles. Ideal when you want the system out of sight.

Frequently asked questions

What size system do I need?

It depends on the size of the room, how much sun it gets, how well it’s insulated and how it’s used. We work this out properly during the free survey, rather than guessing from floor area alone.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the system and the building. We’ll give you a timescale with your quote, so you know how long we’ll be on site before you book.

Do I need planning permission?

Rules for outdoor units vary by council and property. Listed buildings, conservation areas and flats are more likely to need permission or freeholder consent. We point out anything to check during the survey, and your local planning office can confirm.
